Up Irish Locomotives » 141 Class

The 37 locomotives of the Irish Rail 141 Class are numbered from 141-177. No.150 was briefly named 'Inchicore Works 150 1846-1996', it was applied in 1996, but removed shortly after. All of the remaining class are gradually being withdrawn from service.

Irish Rail Liveries 1962-2007-:

CIE black & tan + broken wheel logo (1962-1972)

CIE black & orange 'Super Train' + broken wheel logo (1972-1987)

IR black & orange with white stripes + IR point logo (1987-1994)

IE black & golden/orange with white stripes + IE plug & socket logo (1994-   )

Current 141 Class operations:

-Allocated to station pilot/shunting duties at Dublin's Connolly and Heuston stations, as well as Limerick.

-Used on a permanent way and ballast trains, mainly to the Western Rail Corridor.
